Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome - often abbreviated to HAVS and also known as Vibration White Finger - is an industrial disease. It is caused by extensive and regular work with vibrating handheld tools.

Sufferers of this sometimes painful condition will experience problems affecting the hands caused by muscle damage and impaired blood circulation. With varying degrees of severity, the symptoms include tingling, numbness or blanching of the fingers, pins and needles, reduced dexterity, a weakened grip, coldness and white patches. These symptoms may be particularly noticeable in cold weather.
